Best Bitcoin Wallet.dat Concealment Tutorial
For this to work, you will need:
1. File's that you want to hide
2. Image to hide the file's in
3. WinRAR
To make this method more secure, you can password protect the archive as well as encrypt your wallet.dat file.
Start with a new folder (until you learn the trick then you can do it wherever), for this demonstration I'm going to use... C:/test
Make a folder within that folder, again I did this just for the demonstration purposes.
Open a command prompt window at that new directory. This is easiest done by holding shift then right clickon the folder, then select "Open command window here"
Here's your command prompt window, just minimize it for now.
Put some files in the new directory. Here I dragged a wallet.dat into the folder while holding ctrl (otherwise it would move the file, you probably only want to copy it!)
Now put a jpg image in that folder. I think I shall use the bitcointrading.com logo!
Double click on the folder (navigate into the new directory) and right click on the file. Select "Add to wallet.rar" (assuming you have WinRAR installed with the right click extensions menu which is on by default, if not just put the file in a rar how you normally would).
You can now delete your original file (it's in the rar archive now).
Bring up your command prompt window that you minimized a few moments ago.
Type the magic command! For this demonstration, I used:
copy /b bitcointrading.jpg + wallet.rar bitcointrading.jpg
It is essentially:
copy /b image.jpg + archive.rar image.jpg
Note that to save time, you can type the first charactor or two of a filename, then hit TAB to autofill the rest of the filename.
You can now delete the rar archive (it's safely stored inside the picture).
Open the image with WinRAR. If you right click on the picture, then go to "Open with..", you will probably have to click on "Choose default program.." and then navigate to the WinRAR program file. Be careful not to have the box checked off in that dialog that says "Always use this selected program to open this kind of file" otherwise whenever you go to open a picture it will use WinRAR.
You can alternatively just launch WinRAR from the start menu, then choose "Open archive" and then navigate to the picture (but you will have to change your view to see all files, not just .rar's and .zip's).
Now you see the inside of the image, it contains a wallet.dat now! You can put any file inside a picture!
