Bitcoin exchange Kraken has announced it has purchased Coinsetter in what amounts to one of the larger mergers of notable brands in the bitcoin ecosystem.

BitGo Launches 'Instant' Bitcoin Transaction Tool - 

BitGo has launched a new service that aims to allow clients to accept transactions prior to their official confirmation on the bitcoin blockchain. Called BitGo Instant, the service has so far signed up 10 launch partners including major exchanges such as Kraken and Bitfinex.

Coinbase US Government Liaison Leaves for Banking Role - 

John Collins, head of policy and government affairs at bitcoin wallet provider and exchange Coinbase, has left the company after around 14 months in the role. Collins will move on to a role at BAFT, the international subsidiary of the American Bankers Association, to serve as vice president of international policy.

Russian Investigator Latest to Support Proposed Bitcoin Ban - 

The chairman of Russia's Investigative Committee has reportedly said "money substitutes" including bitcoin should be banned before they reach widespread use in the country. He justified the statement by saying the anonymity provided by cryptocurrencies is a motive for crime, and that their use threatens the ruble.
