With 70% of financial institutions believing that blockchain will be
good for business, it's not strange to see banks seeing what a blockchain can actually do.
R3 has revealed more information about its first large-scale project involving 40 banks (two did not have the resource(!)). R3 managing director
Tim Grant had this to say,
"This is just the beginning, I think there’s going to be a lot of banks and use cases, a lot of different types of projects."(CoinDesk)
In a development that seems to echo the ESMA Director's
comments about blockchain enhancing the post-trade process, Japanese bank
Mizuho has revealed that it have been testing just such a solution. It has tested a faster post-trade process using the Open Assets protocol in conjunction with IT giant
Fujitsu. (
