Online payment service provider PayFort is among a number of investors in a seed funding round announced today by Dubai-based bitcoin startup BitOasis. With the announcement, BitOasis becomes the first bitcoin startup in the region to announce venture funding.

Report: US Postal Service Could Create its Own Digital Currency - 

The US Postal Service has released a new report outlining how it could adopt blockchain technology within its operations. The report suggests that the service should consider using the technology to reinforce its supply chains, create connected device networks or even issue its own cryptocurrency.

5 Members of US National Guard Arrested for Alleged Bitcoin Scam - 

A group of US Army National Guard members have been arrested and charged with a scheme to use bitcoin to purchase stolen credit card numbers, and then use those numbers to go on and make fraudulent purchases from a number of military bases.

Swedish Court Rules Against KnCMiner Mining Hardware Customers - 

A legal effort to sue bitcoin firm KnCMiner over refunds for mining products has been dealt a blow in Sweden. The suit traces back to public furor related to the Titan, a mining product developed and released by KnCMiner in 2014 that was designed to mine non-bitcoin cryptocurrencies like litecoin.

Dubai Government to Sponsor Upcoming Digital Currency Conference - 

Dubai is set to play host to a conference on digital currencies later this month, an event that comes several months after a blockchain effort in the country was first unveiled. Hosted at the Burj Al Arab, the one-day event on 30th May will feature speakers from both the global bitcoin and blockchain ecosystems.
