Bitcoin slips on China rumors

When China sneezes, bitcoin catches a cold.

We’re not sure if China is sneezing or just sniffling, but rumors that regulators might seek ways to limit the movement of bitcoins across borders sent the price tumbling almost 9% on Thursday.

This interrupted a strong rally that saw bitcoin soar above $700 for the first time since June. Since demand from China has been cited as one of the reasons for that price increase, we can assume that market observers will be on the lookout for signs of regulatory change – if any.
