Trusted Hardware Can Help Bitcoin Scale, But At What Cost?

One possibility is transaction processors that run on "trusted hardware" environments, such as Teechan (an IC3 project) which relies on Intel's SGX. A big advantage is that it works now. Korea's Central Bank Considers Blockchain 'Supernode'
A report just published by the Bank of Korea reveals that it is considering blockchain privacy "solutions" recommended by Shinhan Bank. These recommendations include the implementation of a "supernode" which would control access, oversee privacy measures and help protect confidential trading information. Read more.
