In an industry first, Monax has submitted a codebase with an ethereum virtual machine (EVM) to Hyperledger.

Brian Behlendorf, executive director of the enterprise blockchain consortium, told CoinDesk that the group has for some time been eager to integrate an EVM to complement the other technologies under the Hyperledger umbrella.

If the group accepts the Monax submission, the sector could see an acceleration in ethereum development for business applications.

This would be on top of the push given by the Enterprise Ethereum consortium, said to be launching soon, of which Monax has confirmed it is a founding member.

These alignments seem to point to a shift in development focus, and perhaps even more encouraging, to increasing collaboration between different blockchains.
