Turning Tide? Bitcoin Tops $7,000 As Price Pushes Up

What a difference a day makes…

After a period of uproar and disarray, the cryptocurrency markets appear to be tuning back in to their regular programming.

Bitcoin is pushing higher, testing the waters above a $7,000 price figure. Bitcoin cash, once ascendant, is relatively flat on the day, but still trading at a healthy $1,200. Indeed, it seems that things are once again settling into an established order.

Still, this weekend's drama aside, it's perhaps impressive just how normal these outsized numbers have become.

While it can be tempting to worry about the trees, so to speak, the fact remains, the forest boasts an impressive view as well. Combined, $150 billion is now invested in both versions of bitcoin.

Sure, even as the end of year approaches, there's unlikely to be a revival of holiday spirit amidst the camps.

That said, those involved in the vitriol would do well to step back. Quiet days like today serve to show just how big the change wrought by 2017 has been.
