Fifty lucky people will receive $100 in BTC each. When the person or group known as Satoshi Nakamoto sent a document titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" to a cryptography mailing list on October 31st 2008, it marked the first public description of the world's first functioning cryptocurrency.
Barely nine pages long including references, the Bitcoin white paper described technological innovations that would spark a monetary and financial revolution. Bitcoin today has at least 100 million users and is the world's 14th biggest currency by market cap. It provides millions of people with a store of value that is free of debasement by central banks, and medium of exchange (a currency) that can be accessed "permissionlessly" (without the need to provide your identity) from anywhere in the world.
At Bitcoin.com, our mission is to support the growth of economic freedom. One of the ways we do that is by providing the tools you need to interact directly with the Bitcoin network. For example, we offer a fully non-custodial crypto "wallet," the Bitcoin.com Wallet. We think it's important that as many people as possible use non-custodial wallets because it's non-custodial wallets that provide you with full self-sovereign control of your money (rather than putting it in the hands of third party).
